LSU Maintenance Budgeting from Fall 2017 to Spring 2022 (Adjusted for Inflation) (2).png

This chart compares LSU's approximate total operating budget expenditures by function (measured in millions of dollars adjusted for inflation) and the approximate amount of money (measured in millions of dollars) allocated to plant operations/maintenance annually between FY 2017-18 to FY 2021-22. The line graph shows the percentage (rounded to the nearest tenth) of the total budget expenditures for a given year goes to plant operations/maintenance.

What's interesting about this chart is while the total amount of money in LSU's operating expenditures fluctuates from year to year in the fiscal/school years which , the proportion of it going to plant operations/maintenance follows a continuous trend of declining gradually.

GMW Median Salaries Oct_edited.jpg

Median Salaries of General Maintenance Workers

This infographic contains the median annual salaries of general maintenance workers on the national, state and city levels as of October 29, 2021.

As the scope of the population narrows from as broad as the United States to as specific as Baton Rouge, the median annual salary for a general maintenance worker decreases. Although correlation does not imply causation, it would be worth examining outside factors that could contribute to this relationship, if any.

(The data used to make this infographic was obtained from salary.com.)
